Portland, Oregon is one of those cities that is commonly compared to Cincinnati. Both cities are of similar size and density and while Portland added a streetcar system in 2001, Cincinnati is trying to do so presently. In this gallery, you can see several photos of Portland’s streetcar system and their lively Downtown. I also made it to Cannon Beach and the Columbia River Gorge on this trip. You can view the following new galleries here: Portland, Oregon, Columbia River Gorge & Cannon Beach, Oregon. |

I added two more photos to the Cincinnati Skyline (Night) gallery. They were taken yesterday night atop a couple of Newport hilltops. This angle really shows off our newest skyscraper still under construction. The following two photos have been added: CincinnatiSkyline5k & CincinnatiSkyline5l. |

My time in Strasbourg was short but I made the most of it with a long walk through some of Strasbourg’s oldest streets and a fantastic dinner. It has an incredibly beautiful historic core and is a former Roman city with a romanesque styled Cathedral that dates back to 1015. Currently it plays an important role in the European Union second to Brussels. You can view the gallery here. |

The great weather at Balluminaria 2009 meant that there were three times as many people as the previous year. With my late arrival, it was hard to find a preferred location. My patience paid off in the end, when a large group left at once, opening up a front spot against Mirror Lake to set up my equipment. Since the lake wasn't frozen this year, the reflection of the ballons was dramatically improved. It is a great event that I have made a point to attend over the past couple of years. You can view the new gallery here. |
