Zürich, Grindelwald, & Swiss Alps PDF Print E-mail

While in Europe, I had the opportunity to make my way to Switzerland (called Schweiz in the native German language) for a quick excursion.  This was my first visit to Switzerland and the eighth country I have visited in Europe.  In many ways it is very similar to Germany with the exception of the imposing Alps.  The  visit to Grindelwald offered spectacular views of the Eiger and Jungfrau peaks and the chalets looked like something out of a movie.  This is one ski resort town I will be visiting again.  The Grindelwald gallery can be viewed here.

Zürich is the financial and cultural centre of Switzerland and I didn’t expect it to be such a well rounded city.  While well known for being an expensive oasis for the rich, once on foot, the city provided a nice array of shops, restaurants and attractions for all.  I didn’t expect it to be so dense and the “Old Town” was one of the best I have seen although I am still partial to Prague’s.  The Zürich gallery can be viewed here.
